Akira Rabelais, “Caduceus”, Samadhisound, 2010
“Seduced By The Silence” comienza con un armónico y abstracto diálogo en tanto que “On The Little In-Betweens”, “Surface Of Soft Steps, Violets Whisper”.
“Night Dances Through Heaven’s Black Amnesia” y “As Fingers Trace Around The Rim Of A Colourless Sky” son con harta distorsión que revelan gruesas capas de chirridos y ruidos.
Sonidos no convencionales para un inquietante ambient.

Rabelais was born in Texas where he started playing guitar in several industrial bands from Austin in the 80’s.
Then he moved to study arts in California, shift to electronic music and since 1999 had released 12 releases for now.
He has collaborated with various musicians, including Björk, David Sylvian, Harold Budd, Nobukazu Takemura, Stephan Mathieu and Ekkehard Ehlers.
“Caduceus” is his second album after 2004’s «Spellewauerynsherde» on David Sylvian’s Samadhisound imprint and follows 2008’s “Hollywood” CD on the Schoolmap label.
Akira Rabelais invented his own Argeïphontes Lyre software that allows to alterate pre-recorded sound.
The album is basically from a guitar source sound most of the times processed through the Argeïphontes Lyre ranging from acoustic and quiet sounds to distorted ones, plus radio airwaves and static.
The opener “Seduced By The Silence” starts with an almost harmonic and abstract dialogue whilst a more cleaner sound comes on “On The Little In-Betweens” and “Surface Of Soft Steps, Violets Whisper”.
“Night Dances Through Heaven’s Black Amnesia” and “As Fingers Trace Around The Rim Of A Colourless Sky” are quite distorted and reveal thick layers of creaks, hiss and noises.
Unconventional sounds for a disquieting ambient!
