La tercera edición en Kranky después de “Electrice” (2006) de Christina Carter, cantautora residente ahora en la costa este de Norteamérica, nos entrega un trabajo íntimo en donde la tristeza, el sufrimiento, el poder erróneo son referentes, sin embargo, la belleza florece los oscuros vericuetos en este álbum.
Los punteos de las notas de guitarra – tanto acústica como eléctrica – y los teclados en algunas canciones producen un curioso folk y espíritu sicodélico.
Cada canción está delicadamente manufacturada, mostrando un modo de escribir sincero con verdaderas gemas como “Capable of Murder” con sus prístinas líneas de teclados y “Do You Recognise My Voice” por su poderoso discurso.
“Original Darkness” realmente muestra los temas difíciles en nuestra sociedad global nutridos con los problemas locales y también con los avatares de carácter global. La música es preciosa.

Her third release on Kranky after 2006’s ‘Electrice’ album of songwriter Christina Carter now based in the East Coast delivers a very intimate work where sadness, suffering, the wrong power are reference issues but beauty flourish the dark corridors of the album though.
The plucked guitar notes – both acoustic and electric – and keyboards in some of the songs produce a weird like folk and psychedelic spirit.
Every song is delicate crafted showing a sincere way of writing which such gems as ‘Capable of Murder’ with its gorgeous key lines and ‘Do You Recognise My Voice’ with a very powerful speech.
‘Original Darkness’ really shows the kind of difficult issues in our global society nurtured with the local problems but also global conflicts. The music is brilliant!
