Cloudland Canyon es un dúo mitad alemán y mitad Americano compuesto por Ezra Buchla y Simon Wojan quienes están activos desde 2002 editando discos: “Requiems der Nature 2002-2004” (2006), “Cloudland Canyon” (2006), “Silver Tongued Sisyphus” (Kranky, 2007), “Exterminating Angel” (2007, junto a Lichens), “The Mind Electric” (Tape Tektoniks, 2007) y ahora en abril “Lie In Light”, que es su último álbum.
“Lie In Light” consiste en siete temas que tienen fuerza e inquietantes atmósferas donde la psicodelia y el krautrock se mezclan.
“Krautwerk” es en la veta Krautrock, “White Woman” tiene sobrecargadas guitarras psicodélicas, en tanto “You & I” despliega sintes análogos como espirales junto a un dejo en las voces de Suicide.
“Scheisse Shatzi” y “Heme” son dos piezas de ambient con bellas y destellantes líneas de teclados.
“Mothlight Part 1” con guitarras wah-wah y efectos tremolo tiene un estilo shoegaze.

Cloudland Canyon is a duo half German and half American comprised by Ezra Buchla and Simon Wojan who are active since 2002 releasing ‘Requiems der Nature 2002-2004’ (2006), ‘Cloudland Canyon’ (2006), ‘Silver Tongued Sisyphus’ (Kranky, 2007), ‘Exterminating Angel’ (2007, along with Lichens), ‘The Mind Electric’ (Tape Tektoniks, 2007) and ‘Lie In Light’ is their latest album release this month.
‘Lie In Light’ consists in seven tracks that have strength and a disquieting atmosphere where psychedelia and krautrock blend together.
‘Krautwerk’ is in the Krautrock vein, ‘White Woman’ is overloaded by psychedelic guitars, while ‘You & I’ unfolds analogue synth spirals along with a Suicide hint on the vocals.
‘Scheisse Shatzi’ and ‘Heme’ are two ambient pieces with gorgeous twinkling keyboard lines.
‘Mothlight Part 1’ with tremolo and wah-wah guitars is more in the shoegazing vein.
