Michael Duane Ferrell aka Elian vive en Richmond, Virginia y trabaja en el área de la música experimental electrónica editando en netlabels y sellos independientes.
Michael Duane Ferrell procesa varios instrumentos como los vacilantes tonos de vibráfono en “Whispers, Then Silence” y las voces claustrofóbicas de “The happy cynicism of the creative mind” o el violín en “Sea-sick sailors”, en donde el denominador común es la repetición produciendo sonidos orgánicos y sintéticos.
La música es abstracta, acompañada por desarmonías hechas de diferentes capas de sonido. Las cintas en retroceso en “Magnification and minimization” son como torcidas voces humanas y en una línea similar emergen soterradas voces en “Lesson in never again”, configurando un cuadro espectral.

Michael Duane Ferrell processed various instruments like the flickering vibraphone tones of “Whispers, Then Silence” and the claustrophobic voices on “The happy cynicism of the creative mind”, or the violin like on “Sea-sick sailors” where there is a common idea of repetition producing organic and synthetic sounds.
The music is abstract, accompanied by detuned harmonies made out of different layers of sound. The backward tapes on “Magnification and minimization” are like twisted human voices and in the similar vein hidden voices emerged on “Lesson in never again” configuring a spectral picture.
