Kotra & Zavoloka, «Wag The Swing», Kvitnu – kvitnu, 2006
“Wag The Swing” es la tercera colaboración entre los músicos ucranianos Dmytro Fedorenko y Katia Zavoloka, luego de «Untitled Live” [2005] editado en Live Reports, subdivisión del sello Nexsound y “To Kill The Tiny Groovy Cat” EP [2006], también en dicho sello de la ciudad de Kiev.
Este disco se edita Kvitnu que dirige Fedorenko y que viene a ser un sello de proyectos especiales y cuyos discos tendrán diseño y cajas hechas a mano.
En esta ocasión han utilizado bajo, tornamesas vacío, matrices de CD en blanco, voces y laptops y el material fue grabado en la primavera de 2005 y en gran parte durante el verano y otoño boreal de 2006.
Son 24 temas de experimentación e improvisación sonora en la que convergen los errores de lectura digital, la manipulación digital de algunos instrumentos como la guitarra y bajo, además de sonidos sintéticos que son recompuestos, creando ritmos quebradizos y repetitivos, que en algunos casos lindan con el jazz, otras con el funk, el techno y el rock.
Si bien este álbum tiene un carácter abstracto, Fedorenko y Zavoloka también están más cerca de las estructuras en formato canción. Interesante búsqueda de un nuevo lenguaje.

«Wag The Swing» is the third collaboration between the Ukrainians musicians Dmytro Fedorenko and Katia Zavoloka, after Untitled Live [2005] published on Live Reports, a subdivision of the Nexsound label and To Kill The Tiny Groovy Cat EP [2006], also in this imprint from the capital city of Kiev.
This album is published on Kvitnu which is run by Fedorenko and that comes to be as a special projects label and all releases will have a special design and will be handly crafted.
In this occasion they have used bass, empty vinyl player, blank CD matrixes, voices and laptops and the material was recorded in the spring of 2005 and to a large extent during summer and autumn 2006.
They are 24 cuts of experimentation and sonorous improvisation in which converge digital errors, the digital manipulation of some instruments like bass and guitar and addition to synthetic sounds that are recomposed, creating broken and repetitive beats, that in some cases are close to jazz, others to funk, techno and rock.
Although this album has an abstract character, Fedorenko and Zavoloka also they go into a song format structure. This is an amazing search for a new language.
