Este es el primer disco que edita el sello de Nueva York después de su anterior EP “Frail as Breath” [2005].
En este álbum se combinan los instrumentos acústicos como la guitarra, banjo y acordeón junto a las manipulaciones por computador, en donde prevalecen los errores de lectura digital, la estática, además de grabaciones de campo de utensilios varios y voces. Se respira una atmósfera íntima que recuerda los trabajos de Fennesz y Shuttle 358.
Son especialmente atractivas las notas del acordeón en “Roots growing” que impregnan un halo romántico a aquellas tardes de verano de la película francesa Betty Blue. En realidad la música de Templeton crea imágenes cinemáticas, que se van estructurando poco a poco; clicks, ruidos y surge un fragmento de guitarra, se corta, sale entrecortado como en el track que da título al álbum, ¿el canturreo de los pájaros que anuncian su deseo de volar? En el siguiente tema “Pattern for a pillow” allí están aquellos pájaros que interactúan con el ambiente de gente en la calle. Un poco de mundo real que es interceptado por la música.

This is the first release of New York based Anticipate label and also the debut full-length of Canadian Mark Templeton who self released the Frail as Breath EP [2005] as well.
In this album the acoustic instruments like guitar, banjo and accordion are combined under software design where the digital errors and static prevail, furthermore field recordings of various materials and voices.
An intimate atmosphere is breathed that recall the works of Fennesz and Shuttle 358. The accordion notes on Roots growing are especially attractive that mark a romantic flavour like those Summer afternoons of the Betty Blue French film. In fact the music of Templeton creates kinematics images that are structured little by little; clicks and cuts, noises, guitar fragments like the track that gives the name to the album, the humming of the birds that announce their desire to fly? In the following cut Pattern for pillow are those birds that interact with the atmosphere of people in the street. A kind of real world that is intercepted by the music.
