Neutral
Neutral es un dúo sueco de rock experimental formado por Dan Johansson y Sofie Herner con el que intersectan con el noise y el punk. Han publicado los álbumes “Grå Våg Gamlestaden” (Omlott, 2014) y “När” (Ba Da Bing Records, 2017).
Johansson es miembro de otras bandas como Sewer Election, Ättestupa, Amateur Hour, entre otras, en tanto Herner tiene su proyecto en solitario Leda y forma parte del colectivo experimental Enhet För Fri Musik.
Neutral es un cruce entre Ashtray Navigations, Wolf Eyes y Astral Social Club donde el ruido es un concepto estético musical.
«Lågliv» se editó originalmente en 2019 en formato de box set bajo el título de “On Corrosion” que incluía 10 casetes con los álbumes completos de grupos del sello The Helen Scarsdale Agency (gestionado por el músico y el crítico musical Jim Haynes): Kleistwahr, Neutral, Pinkcourtesyphone, Alice Kemp, She Spread Sorrow, G*Park, Relay For Death, Francisco Meirino, Fossil Aerosol Mining Project y Himukalt.
«Lågliv» consiste en dos largos temas junto a dos ediciones para radio. Comienza con “enhet / röda sten / sömngång / punkt” donde una avalancha de guitarras producen ráfagas de ruido, además de la voz procesada con ecos de Johansson/Herner, quienes deslizan una narrativa en medio de la caótica vorágine, no obstante, hacia el final de este tema, una frase de órgano deviene como interludio agregando un halo de misterio.
En “ganska lågt / också”, el segundo track, continúa con una suerte de spoken-word, además de efectos entrecortados de la guitarra y el escalofriante ladrido de un perro, generando una sensación de peligro.
Con este disco el dúo sueco Neutral configura formas abstractas con un rock exploratorio, libre de estructuras, electrizante y oscuro.

‘Lågliv’ consists of two long tracks along with two radio edits. It begins with ‘enhet / röda sten / sömngång / punkt’, where an avalanche of guitars produce bursts of noise, along with the processed, echoing voices of Johansson/Herner, who slip a narrative into the midst of the chaotic maelstrom. However, towards the end of this track, an organ phrase acts as an interlude, adding an aura of mystery.
In ‘ganska lågt / också’, the second track, it continues with a kind of spoken word, as well as staccato guitar effects and the chilling bark of a dog, creating a sense of danger.
With this album, the Swedish duo Neutral configures abstract forms with exploratory rock that is free of structure, electrifying and dark.
