Pablo Reche / Ubeboet, “Duae”, CD-R, Retinascan, 2006
El artista sonoro argentino Pablo Reche y el español Miguel Tolosa aka Ubeboet, quien dirige el netlabel y sello Con-V, se reúnen para realizar “Duae” editado en el sello alemán Retinascan en una caja DVD que contiene un folleto con imágenes de iambored y textos de Tolosa.
Esta es la primera vez que ambos músicos colaboran juntos, en tanto Reche junto a Anla Courtis tienen editado en Con-V el EP “Transistores de Aire” [2005] y el propio Reche su EP “Constelación” [2004].
Había escuchado “Duae” en formato MP3 y ahora me doy cuenta con la versión CD-R, que muchos matices del disco habían pasado inadvertidos para mí. Posiblemente había ocurrido esto por sus bajas frecuencias y sonidos soterrados.
Este EP de 4 temas tiene una atmósfera post-industrial comenzando con “Urbs” que contiene algunos sonidos urbanos que permanecen como drones, a los cuales se suman capas profundas de bajos que llenan el espacio.
“Graviter” suena realmente profundo, bajo, casi inaudible, oscuro y frío. Luego de un silencio comienza “Circum” con algunos sonidos orgánicos y con forma de tubos, en tanto un polvo microscópico juega un importante rol que me hace sentir perdido en un inesperado lugar.
“Natura Duce” también posee paisajes fantasmales pero a poco andar asoman imperceptibles melodías, como un rayo de luz que cruza el brumoso panorama.
Es curioso pero la desolación y de acogida podrían ser dos sensaciones distintas y contradictorias, sin embargo a lo largo de “Duae” es posible tener esta experiencia dual.

Argentine sound artist Pablo Reche and Spanish frontman of the Con-V net and CD-R label Miguel Tolosa, team up to produce ‘Duae’ which was released on the German Retinascan CD-R label in a DVD case together with a booklet of images by iambored and words by Tolosa.
This is the first time they work together. Reche along with Anla Courtis released on Con-V ‘Transistores de Aire EP’ [2005] and Reche the ‘Constelación EP’ [2004].
I heard ‘Duae’ on MP3 format some time ago but now I recognize that with the CD-R, I lost a lot of shades that were imperceptible for me at that time. Maybe it was because of the very low frequencies and hidden sounds.
This 4 track EP holds a post-industrial atmosphere starting with ‘Urbs’ that unfolds some urban sounds that remain as a drone while deep bass layers complete the space.
‘Graviter’ it sounds really deep almost inaudible, dark and cold. After 10 seconds of silence starts ‘Circum’ with some organic and tubular sounds while microscopic dust plays an important role, but me felt like lost in an unexpected place.
‘Natura Duce’ also has haunting landscapes but little by little emerge imperceptible melodies, like a lightning thunder that crosses the foggy panorama.
It’s weird but desolation and warm feelings could be two different and contradictory sensations, nevertheless throughout ‘Duae’ it’s possible to have this dual experience.
