Saburo Ukubata es un compositor y artista electrónico de Tokio que tiene como principal instrumento el piano, que combina con registros de campo que ha grabado en distintos lugares de Japón.
‘Reflections Primal’, que es su álbum debut, comprende pasajes ambient y composición clásica moderna. ‘Refrains’ despliega bellas notas de piano mientras escuchamos cómo se escurre el sonido del agua, que también aparece en ‘Seeglass’ acompañado de un suave beat.
‘Mosaic’ parece que fuera una contradicción: por un lado se escuchan fuegos artificiales y, por ello, una connotación de alegría; en tanto un drone sostenido provoca cierta inquietud y, en el fondo, se escuchan las voces de personas y de algunos niños.
La quietud de ‘Night Flow’ fluye a través de lo que parece ser el sonido de un xilófono, en tanto que en ‘Tokyo Eufonio’ se desliza un bello piano que crea un ambiente tranquilo, que también se crea en ‘Harvest Moon’ a través de un xilófono mientras se escuchan los pasos de una persona.
Saburo Ubukata, con este disco, nos invita a escuchar bellos paisajes sonoros.

Saburo Ubukata is a composer and electronic artist from Tokyo whose main instrument is the piano, combined with field recordings that he has captured in various locations in Japan.
‘Reflection Primal’, which is his debut album, includes ambient passages and modern classical composition. ‘Refrains’ deploys beautiful piano notes while we hear the sound of water trickling, which also appears on ‘Seeglass’, accompanied by a soft beat.
‘Mosaic’ seems to be a contradiction: on one hand we hear fireworks and, therefore, it connotes joy; while there is a sustained drone that is quite disturbing, and in the background, we hear the voices of people and some children.
The stillness of ‘Night Flow’ flows through what appears to be the sound of a xylophone, while on ‘Tokyo Eufonio’ a beautiful piano slides, creating a calm atmosphere, which is also built in ‘Harvest Moon’ through a xylophone as we listen to the footsteps of a person.
Saburo Ubukata, with this album, invites us to listen to beautiful soundscapes.
