Tied & Tickled Trio, «A.R.C.», Morr Music, 2006
El núcleo creativo de Tied & Tickled Trio compuesto por los alemanes Caspar Brandner, Andreas Pert, Markus Acher y Micha Archer ya tiene 10 años de carrera musical con tres álbumes a su haber, un disco en vivo y otro de remezclas.
«A.R.C.» contiene un DVD que registra una presentación en vivo en el Registratur en München como parte de la gira «Observing Systems» en 2004 y el CD «Live In Der Registratur» que es la versión en estudio del tema «A.R.C.» y tres video clips: «Revolution», «Yolanda» y «Tusovska Dub».
Este cuarteto que mezcla jazz y electrónica es acompañado en el escenario por otros ocho músicos, reuniendo de este modo a un colectivo de 12 integrantes con instrumentos de viento, además de teclados, computador, batería, bajo y batería.
La estética casi rudimentaria de las imágenes obedece a una referencia impresionista de cómo eran las primeras filmaciones de los grupos de jazz, pasando por la vertiente psicodélica de Sun Ra hasta el más contemporáneo arte digital.
«A.R.C.» da cuenta de la trayectoria de este cuarteto de jazz de vanguardia.

Tied & Tickled Trio, ‘A.R.C.’, Morr Music, 2006
Tied & Tickled Trio, a German jazz-electronica collective allegedly named after a Japanese sex technique, comprises the core group of tenor saxophonist Johannes Enders, drummer and programmer Markus Acher, bassist and brass player Micha Acher and keyboardist Andreas Gerth. Featuring members from Lali Puna, Notwist and Village of Savoonga, this misnamed, Weilheim-based quartet has produced several long-players, a live recording and a remix album during a decade-long career.
‘A.R.C.’, the group’s sixth release, consists of a video document recorded at the Registratur Munich as part of 2004’s ‘Observing Systems’ tour, a twenty-minute CD [‘Live in Der Registratur’] culled from a previously unreleased studio version of ‘A.R.C.’, and three music videos [‘Revolution’, ‘Yolanda’, and ‘Tusovska Dub’].
The group’s deft fusion of dub, Canterbury jazz-rock, Tortoise studio sorcery and 60’s cool jazz is thickened onstage by an additional throng of musicians on winds, keyboards, laptop & analog gadgetry, drums and bass.
Filmed and edited by Jorg Adolph and Anton Kaun, the DIY aesthetics evinced throughout run the gamut from vintage jazz footage approximations by way of Sun Ra’s hallucinatory psychedelia to state-of-the-art digital prestidigitation.
‘A.R.C.’ faithfully captures this experimental ensemble at the height of their creative powers.
