Violett, “Kids EP”, Telegraph 027, 2006

Violett es Violeta Torres que viene de Buenos Aires, fichada por el sello francés Telegraph. En este EP parte con “Kids”, una versión limpia y firme más melodías pausadas y con efectos, las cuales parecieran estar pasadas por un flanger y distorsión.
“Meadown” es más profundo, con algo de reverb de percusión y bajos entre clic y saturados, manteniéndose dentro de un groove pulsante.
El remix de “Kids” por Ryan Crosson le da un quiebre al EP, este tiene un sonido más seco, en comparación a los originales. Esta es una remezcla bien hecha y que sabe ubicar bien las muestras del tema original, aunque a momentos pareciera ser muy parecida al original y sin tratamientos.
Al final “Lindt”, suena como un tema “mojado”, con percusiones pasadas por efectos y que te mantiene sumergido.
En resumen un buen EP, que llama la atención por la mezcla de lo minimal y deep pero a la vez con arreglos lúdicos y brillantes.
Ojo con un próximo compilado de este mismo sello que aglutinará a lo más interesante de lo actual que se está haciendo en Argentina junto a ella y gente integrante del netlabel Igloo.

Violeta is Violeta Torres from Buenos Aires, part of the French label Telegraph. In this EP she begins with *Kids*, a clean and forceful track with slow melodies and effects, the ones that seems to be processed by a flanger and distortion.
*Meadown* is deeper, with something of reverb in the percussions and with a bit saturated click-basses keeping all of this in a constant pulsating groove.
The *Kids* remix made by Ryan Crosson gives a break during the EP. This has a more dry one sound in comparison with the original. This is a well done remix that knows to locate well the sound sources but from time to time sounds too similar with the original version and without too many treatments.
At the end is *Lindt*. This one sounds “wet”, with fx-percussions, the ones that keep you submerged.
This is a nice EP that brings the attention of the mixture of minimal and deep elements but at the same time with bright and playful arrangements.
Keep an eye with the forthcoming compilation of the same label which brings the most interesting people doing music right now in Argentina, along with her comes some people from the net label Igloo.
