**Jasper Leyland, “Margin”, Stray Dog Army, 2006**
Este es el trabajo del artista sonoro Jonathan Brewster que debuta en Stray Dog Army que opera en Bristol, Inglaterra y “Margin”, es la cuarta referencia en este sello dirigido por James Brewster quien tiene el proyecto Mole Harness. La estética de las portadas son magníficas fotografías de paisajes de Cecilia Ek.
“Margin” es la continuación de su EP “Capsize” [2005] y comprende cinco temas. Su portada muestra una imagen algo borrosa en temporada de invierno de un árbol que ya tiene pocas hojas, que esconde una belleza triste y contemplativa, lo cual delata la música de este músico noruego.
El recorrido que hace este álbum es coherente pues cada tema construye un eslabón para el siguiente tema, cuyo común denominador es moverse por tranquilas aguas y pequeños sonidos compuestos de algunas manipulaciones digitales y acústicas que se van mezclando, junto a bellas melodías construidas con distintas capas de acordes de guitarra acústica y eléctrica, loops de líneas de sintetizador, siseos, cut-ups y registros de campo.

This is the work of sound artist Jonathan Brewster who makes his debut on Stray Dog Army based in Bristol, England, and Margin, is the fourth reference in this imprint run by James Brewster who has the Mole Harness project. The aesthetic of the art covers are amazing landscapes photographies by Cecilia Ek.
Margin is the follow up of Capsize [2005] that comprised five tracks. Its art cover shows a blurred image of a tree with few leaves during a Winter season, that hides a sad and contemplative beauty, which exposes the music of this Norwegian musician.
The route that makes this album is coherent because it has a main structure and each track build-up a bridge to the following cut, whose common denominator is a wash of ambient sounds composed of some digital manipulations and acoustic instruments that are mixed, along with shimmering melodies made of different layers of acoustic and electric guitar chords, loops, synthesizer lines, hiss, cut-ups and field recordings.
