A.M.T y el colectivo The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. tiene un nuevo álbum que se agrega a su extensa discografía con más de 25 discos a su haber.
Formado en 1995, esta vez The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. lo integran ex-miembros de The Boredoms, Ghost, Zeni Geva y Gong. Este enjambre de músicos conlleva variadas influencias como rock progresivo, psicodelia, space-rock, folk, hard-rock, krautrock y estilos que se mezclan. A esto se agrega el carácter místico que imprime su líder de A.M.T Makoto Kawabata.
Esta amalgama musical tiene detrás un arsenal de instrumentos: la cítara eléctrica, hurdy-gurdy, guitarra acústica y eléctrica, saxo alto, flauta, voz, bajo, sintetizador Moog y batería.
«Have You Ever Seen The Other Side Of The Sky?» [título y pregunta que lleva a responder lo que se puede ver a través de la música de A.M.T.: una exquisita oscuridad vestida de locura], tiene momentos de desenfreno de hard-rock como sus temas «Attack from the Planet Hattifatteners», «I Wanna Be Your Bicycle Saddle», en tanto también posee ambientes más sosegados a canción folk, a saber, el magnífico «Buy the Moon of Jupiter» y trippy «Interplanetary Love» con su ondeante sintetizador Moog y la voz de carácter épico y en algún idioma relacionado con la cultura celta.
El último tema «The Tales of Solar Sail» es un viaje de rock psicodélico cuya base rítmica son filosas guitarras que hacia el final junto al saxo, flauta y Moog, entran en una fase caótica para después lograr gran intensidad con los furiosos cantos de la guitarra junto a un ritmo incesante que termina luego de 30 minutos de incansable entrega.
De punta cabo un gran disco.

A.M.T and The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. have a new album out on Ace Fu and ‘tis a fine and hairy addition to their ever-expanding discography (more than 25 releases in a decade).
Formed in 1995, the rotating collective of The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. presently comprises former members of the Boredoms, Ghost, Zeni Geva and Gong. As a consequence of this rich confluence of minds, sundry traditions and influences (progressive rock, psychedelia, space rock, folk, hard rock and krautrock) have made their way into the music. To this outlandish equation must be added the mystical and mythical dimensions of A.M.T’s frontman, Makoto Kawabata.
This heady musical amalgam is the end result of the feverish interplay of electric sitar, hurdy-gurdy, acoustic and electric guitar, sax, flute, voice, bass, Moog synthesizer and drums.
Have You Ever Seen The Other Side Of The Sky [an apropos question and title considering the dark hallucinatory nature of the music] exhibits moments of unhinged molten rock, Attack from the Planet Hattifatteners and I Wanna Be Your Bicycle Saddle, as well as more reflective, folk-tinged numbers like the majestic and imposing Buy the Moon of Jupiter and the trippy Interplanetary Love with its convulsive Moog modulations and epic voicings in a phantasmagoric approximation to Celtic.
The last track, Tale of the Solar Sail-Dark Stars in the Dazzling Sky, is a psychedelic interstellar voyage whose course is precariously traced by ferocious rhythm guitars that inevitably collapses into a black hole of sax, flute and Moog; a deliciously interminable frenzy unleashed by guitars and percussion follows. A great album from beginning to end.
