Yellow6, “Painted Sky”, Resonant, 2007
Este es el primer álbum de un artista inglés en Resonant. Yellow6 aka Jon Attwood, es un guitarrista que reside en Leicestershire y tiene a su haber seis álbumes editados en Darla, Ochre, entre otros sellos, además de varios mini-álbumes y apariciones en compilados.
Yellow6 recuerda los trabajos de Dif Juz, Codeine o del dúo español Belver Yin con sus guitarras cristalinas bajo un ambient y paisaje sonoro.
“Painted Sky” es el séptimo disco de este artista que tiene una estructura melódica como base, feedback de guitarras que muestra en temas como “Pleasure/Pain” con un dejo de tristeza.
Las arremolinadas guitarras en “Eighteen days” me recuerdan las ensoñadoras atmósferas de Vini Reilly de The Durutti Column.
Cada canción tiene su propia personalidad como la obscura “Marê” con su sonido de guitarra shoegazing.
“Realization” es una interesante e intensa canción que invita al oyente a mantener los ojos y oídos atentos ante el espectral ambient.

This is the first album release of a UK artist on Resonant. Yellow6 aka guitarist Jon Attwood based in Leicestershire, England, although Attwood is already known by his already six albums released on Darla, Ochre, amongst other imprints plus several mini-albums, EP’s, singles and appearances on various compilations.
Yellow6 recall the works of Dif Juz, Codeine or the Spanish duo Belver Yin with their shimmering and shinning guitar under ambient soundscapes.
‘Painted Sky’ is the seventh instalment of this artist which holds a melody based structured, feedback guitar effects that burst through on such songs like ‘Pleasure/Pain’ showing a very sad mood.
The swirling guitar chords on ‘Eighteen days’ remember me of Vini Reilly’s The Durutti Column mesmerizing atmospheres. Every song has its own personality like the more obscure ‘Marê’ with its shoegazing guitars sound like.
‘Realisation’ it’s an amazing and intense song that invites the listener to keep the eyes and ears open to expect a stunning and spectral ambient.
