Yann Novak, “Intermission”, Dragons Eye Recordings, 2007
Yann Novak dirige el sello Dragons Eye Recordings que editó su trabajo “Intermission” que sirvió como soporte para la instalación sonora “A Sac of Rooms Three Times a Day” del artista Alex Schweder que fue exhibida en el Suyama Space en Seattle. La instalación consistía en dos casas hechas de vinilo que estaba una dentro de la otra y que se inflaban y desinflaban tres veces al día.
La música de Novak estaba focalizada en el proceso de desinflado y en particular “Intermisión” es una edición de las cuatro horas originales que se utilizaban para la instalación.
A lo largo de los 60 minutos se escucha un permanente drone que está envuelto de ondas modulares que entran en un loop. En tanto una nota aguda se intensifica gradualmente.
Este es un viaje profundo y alucinante, donde nos encontramos con la desolación y el misterio. Un periplo interminable al que nos invita Novak con un especial sentido de la contemplación.

Yann Novak runs the Dragons Eye Recordings that released his work ‘Intermission’ which supports the sound installation called ‘A Sac of Rooms Three Times a Day’ from the artist Alex Schweder who exhibited it at Suyama Space in Seattle.
The installation consisted of two houses made out of vinyl that were one inside the other and three times a day were inflated and deflated.
Novak’s music was focused on the deflated process and in particular ‘Intermission’ is an edition of the four original hours that the music was used for the installation.
Along 60 minutes the music essentially deals with drones which are covered by modular waves that get into a loop and a sharp note emerges and intensifies gradually.
This is a deep and hallucinating trip where we encounter desolation and mystery. Novak invites us with a special sense for contemplation to an endlessly voyage.
