Pocahaunted & Robedoor
Pocahaunted y Robedoor son dos grupos noise rock de Los Ángeles que proponen drones de guitarra y voces fantasmales que tanto flirtean con la belleza como con la oscuridad.
Pocahaunted es Bethany y Amanda, en tanto Robedoor está compuesto por Alex y Brito y dos de los cuatro están casados y llevan adelante el sello Not Not Fun que tiene anunciado los lanzamientos de Christina Carter/Pocahaunted LP, Heather Leigh Murray LP, Magic Lantern cassette y Barn Owl Cdr.
«Hunted Gathering» es editado por el sello del web zine Foxy Digitales, Digitalis Industries que maneja el periodista y músico Brad Rose.
Las voces procesadas, efectos de pedales, feedback, procesadores y guitarras arman el arsenal de ambos dúos. Por momentos esta amalgama crea una muralla de sonido que es intensa y penetrante.
Esta música nos invita a un viaje psicodélico, distorsionado y apabullante.

Pocahaunted and Robedoor are two LA noise rock bands that showcase guitar drones and haunted voices that both flirt with beauty and darkness.
Pocahaunted is Bethany and Amanda, and Robedoor is made up of Alex and Britt and two of the four are married and involved in the Not Not Fun label that announced the forthcoming releases of Christina Carter/Pocahaunted LP, Heather Leigh Murray LP, Magic Lantern on cassette and the Barn Owl CD-R.
‘Hunted Gathering’ is released by Digitalis Industries which is the label of the Foxy Digitalis web zine that runs journalist and musician Brad Rose.
The processed voices, pedals, feedback, processors and guitars is the arsenal of both duos. Sometimes this amalgam creates a wall of sound that is both intense and penetrating.
The music invites us to a psychedelic and distorted trip.

**¿Cuáles son los elementos que Pocahaunted / Robedoor contribuyó al álbum “Haunted Gathering”?**
Alex: “Yo toco la batería y botones”.
Bethany: “Yo toco la guitarra y canto”.
Manda: “Yo también”.
Bethany: “Y yo toco la batería en un tema”.
Brito: “Canté fuerte e hice algunos ruidos y ayudé en ponerle título al tema”.
**Ambos grupos usan la voz como un mantra. Creo que esta es la manera de cantar, tratando de sacarle todo su potencial, empujando más allá de los límites. ¿Cuál es vuestra opinión?**
Manda: “En términos vocales estamos intentando encontrar un tipo de resurrección espiritual. Estamos llamados a hacer algo profundo más que las palabras”.
Bethany: Amanda… [risas]
Britt: “Supongo que suena como un predicador”.
Bethany: “No necesitamos de las letras”.
**¿Nos pueden contar acerca de vuestro sello Not Not Fun?**
Britt: “Manda y yo dirigimos el sello desde 2004. Editamos cosas con las cuales nos identificamos, además de nuestras propias bandas cuando así lo amerita”.
**¿Tienen proyectos paralelos?**
Bethany: “Bethday Party, Online Vintage”.
Alex: “Cheese Mongering”.
Manda: “Quintana Roo, Barrabarracuda, Knit Witch, Funk X”.
Britt: “Pechangahaunted”.

**Which are the musical elements that Pocahaunted / Robedoor contributed for the “Haunted Gathering” album?**
Alex: «I played drums and pushed buttons.»
Bethany: «I played a guitar and I sang.»
Manda: «Me too.»
Bethany: «And I played drums on one song.»
Britt: «I howled and made some noises and helped come up with the title.»
**Both groups use the voice like mantras. I think this is a kind of singing, like trying to take out all its potential, pushing boundaries beyond. What’s your opinion about?**
Manda: «Vocally we’re trying to hit some kind of spiritual resurrection. We’re calling on something deeper than words.»
Bethany: Amanda….[laughs]
Britt: «It’s supposed to sound like prayers.»
Bethany: «You don’t need lyrics.»
**Tell us about your Not Not Fun label.**
Britt: «Me and Manda run the label together, and have been since 2004. We put out stuff by whoever we’re into, plus our own bands when it feels right.»
**Do you have any side-projects?**
Bethany: «Bethday Party, Online Vintage.»
Alex: «Cheese Mongering.»
