Axolotl, “Memory Theatre”, Important, 2007
Kart Bauer de Baltimore, Maryland comenzó Axolotl en 2004 y a partir de entonces posee una vasta discografía de cerca de 20 discos, editados en varios sellos. Bauer es uno de los artistas más destacados de la escena noise/psicodelia/experimental en estos días, quien está involucrado en Telesma, Mouthus y ha colaborado con The Skaters, Yellow Swans, Black Dice, Double Leopard, Pete Nolan de Ashtray Navigations, entre otros.
“Memory Theatre” compila tres ediciones de 2006, el 12” “Chemical Theatre” y “Oranur” y “Object Phantom” CD-R’s de 2005.
En la música de Bauer hay atisbos de krautrock, minimalismo, drones y psicodelia. Entre las capas de sonido asoman innumerables tonos cambiantes y percusión primitiva y todo esto produce una muralla de sonido en la que están escondidas algunas armonías.
Este compilado es uno de los mejores discos de 2007.

Kart Bauer from Baltimore, Maryland started Axolotl in 2004 and since then he has a wide discography of 20 records or so released in several labels. Bauer is one the remarkable noise/psychedelia/experimental artists to date and he’s involved in Telesma, Mouthus, and has collaborated with the Skaters, Yellow Swans, Black Dice, Double Leopard, Ashtray Navigations’s Pete Nolan, amongst others.
‘Memory Theatre’ compiles three of 2006’s releases, ‘Chemical Theatre’ 12-inch and 2005’s ‘Oranur’ and ‘Object Phantom’ CD-R’s.
In Bauer’s music there are hints of krautrock, minimalism, noise, drones and psychedelia. In between layers there are numberless shifting tones, timbres and cluttering percussion and all of this produces a wall of sound where some harmonies are rather hidden.
This compilation is one of the best records of 2007.
