Charles-Eric Charrier es un compositor francés quien ha trabajado bajo los alias M.A.N., Oldman y con su propio nombre.
El CD viene junto a un folleto con dibujos de Charles-Eric, además de pensamientos, algunos de ellos pintados por su esposa Béatrice Templié.
Este fue grabado en un solo día con Charrier tocando bajo – su instrumento favorito – y recitando. Supongo que otros artistas también colaboran tocando la guitarra y el violín.
El trabajo de Charrier en este disco es íntimo y minimalista. Básicamente es con punteos al bajo en medio del silencio y, de vez en cuando, las notas de un violín. Es suficiente para crear tensión y una atmósfera perturbadora.
Desafortunadamente no entiendo el francés pero tengo la leve idea que la música evoca la playa, el viento, calor del verano, el aire fresco…
En la música puedo escuchar retazos psicodélicos, folk y Krautrock pero por sobre todo una encantadora, cautivadora y sólida propuesta.

Charles-Eric Charrier is a French composer who has worked under the aliases of M.A.N., Oldman and more recently his own name.
The CD comes together with a booklet of drawings by Charles-Eric along with thoughts, some of them coloured by his wife Béatrice Templié.
This was recorded in one single day with only Charrier playing bass – his favourite instrument – and spoken word-like. I guess other musicians collaborated playing guitar and violin in this recording session.
Charrier’s work in this album is intimate and minimalistic. Mainly finger-picking bass chords in between silence and from time to time violin notes. It’s enough to create a tension and disturbing atmosphere.
Unfortunately, I don’t understand French but I have the slight idea that the music evokes the seaside: wind, heat of summertime, fresh air…
In the music I can hear snippets of psychedelia, folk and Krautrock but moreover an enchanting, captivating and solid proposal.
