Cada vez que escucho música en la que participa alguno de los miembros de uno de los más notables grupos como Stars Of The Lid, tengo la expectativa de una entrega impecable y Winged Victory For the Sullen desde luego que no es la excepción.
Esta es la colaboración entre Adam Wiltzie y el compositor y pianista norteamericano Dustin O’Halloran y ambos acordaron tocar en diferentes espacios como en una iglesia de Berlín Occidental, en la radio DDR de Berlín Oriental y en Italia, en donde tocaron pianos de cola, un cuarteto de cuerdas, cuerno francés, fagot y guitarra.
El chelista islandés Hildur Gudnadottir y el violinista Peter Broderick fueron invitados a colaborar.
La música de ambient drone del dúo inspira bellos parajes a los cuales admirar siempre. Emociones como la alegría y la tristeza interactúan en todo el álbum a través de la sección de cuerdas, piano y las bellas melodías de la guitarra. Todo está en armonía, está perfecto, en apariencia en una bella tensión.

Every time I hear music in which is involved one of the members of the most notable units like Stars Of The Lid, I expect a remarkable delivering and Winged Victory For the Sullen is not the exception at all.
This is the collaboration between Adam Wiltzie and American pianist and composer Dustin O’Halloran and both agreed to play and record in different spaces as a church in West Berlin, at DDR radio in East Berlin and Italy where they play 9ft grand pianos, string quartet, French horn, bassoon, and guitar. Icelandic cellist Hildur Gudnadottir, and violinist Peter Broderick were invited to collaborate.
The ambient drone music of the duo inspires beautiful landscapes to stare at endlessly. Emotions like happiness and sadness are both interacting in the whole album through the string section and grand piano notes and guitar melodies. All is in harmony, everything is perfect apparently in a beautiful tension.
