Philippe Petit es un artista sonoro, curador, compositor y músico quien reside en Marsella.
Tiene una trayectoria de 29 años en la música de vanguardia y experimental y ha colaborado con importantes artistas como Lydia Lunch, Eugene Robinson, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Faust, Scanner, entre otros. Además, participa en los proyectos Confluence, Philippe Petit & Friends y Strings Of Consciousness. Al frente también del sello Bip-Hop.
Petit trabaja con un arsenal de instrumentos y objetos, salterio eléctrico, guitarra, percusión, vinilos, objetos de madera, botellas de vidrio, cuchillos o globos inflables, piano preparado, grabaciones de campo y software de diseño para crear las texturas sonoras.
‘Eugénie’ es un EP editado en vinilo de 10” que contiene cuatro temas. Los primeros tres temas Petit toca con algunos amigos.
‘An Air of Intrigue’ es una pieza improvisada en donde se produce un diálogo entre un cello y una viola.
En ‘Clapoutique’ se combinan lo apacible a través de los sonidos prístinos del vibráfono y el cello y la confusión de la resonancia de las oscilaciones del bajo y la guitarra.
‘Pyramid of The Moon’ es un tema más acústico que los anteriores, con guitarra, melódica y una cítara descompuesta.
En ‘Magma From The Aquarium’ se mezcla salterio eléctrico, voces y electrónica y es el tema más abstracto del EP.
‘Eugénie’ es un paisaje sonoro en el que conviven lo acústico con lo electrónico, la quietud y la confusión.

Philippe Petit is a sound artist, curator, composer and musician who lives in Marseille.
He has been active 29 years in the art and experimental music field and has collaborated with major artists like Lydia Lunch, Eugene Robinson, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Faust, Scanner, among others. He also participates in projects like Confluence, Philippe Petit & Friends and Strings Of Consciousness. Furthermore, he runs the Bip-Hop label.
Petit works with an array of instruments and objects, electric psalterion, guitar, percussion, vinyl, wooden objects, glass bottles, knives or balloon, prepared piano, field recordings and software design to create the sound textures.
‘Eugenie’ is an EP released on vinyl 10” which contains four tracks. The first three of them Petit plays with some friends.
‘An Air of Intrigue’ is an improvised piece alongwith a dialogue between cello and viola.
On ‘Clapoutique’ combines the gentle and pristine sounds of the vibraphone and cello alongwith the confusion of the resonance oscillations of the bass and guitar.
‘Pyramid of the Moon’ is more acoustic than the previous ones, with guitar, melodica and a broken zither.
‘Magma From The Aquarium’ blends electric psalterion, vocals and electronics and is the more abstract track of the EP.
‘Eugenie’ is a soundscape in which the acoustic and electronics work together as well as stillness and confusion.
