Joe Evans comienza a hacer música a principios de los 80’s con una guitarra, teclados y cintas.
Evans ha trabajado en compañías de teatro, escribiendo y ejecutando música e instalaciones. También dirige el sello Runningonair Music desde 2009 que edita el trabajo de artistas de vanguardia.
‘Ecliptic Plane’ contiene un CD con cinco temas y un DVD. Se inspira en el sistema solar y en particular en cómo el tiempo está marcado por el ciclo de movimientos que hay en éste.
La música de Evans combina piano, drones, loop y experimentos matemáticos musicales.
En los temas ‘Ecliptic Plane’ y ‘Resonant TNOs’ se utilizó la data de los planetas, sus satélites y otros objetos para crear sus ritmos y armonías. En el primero el ambiente se siente más gélido con sus ráfagas y suaves percusiones digitales.
En tanto en ‘Resonant TNOs’ se escuchan las notas de un piano que crea una atmósfera delicada y sobrecogedora.
‘Approaching Sun’, ‘Recending Sun’ y ‘Oort Cloud’ son el resultado de experimentos matemáticos.
‘Approaching Sun’ se inicia con un sonido más brillante casi épico producido con un software de diseño y muestra luego una cara más desoladora con ‘Recending Sun’.
‘Oort Cloud’ es un viaje a una zona oscura del espacio con un loop de piano y algunos sonidos sucios a la distancia.
Los videos que acompañan el tema ‘Ecliptic Plane’ (uno en estéreo y el otro en sonido envolvente) muestran los planetas y sus satélites más importantes en una serie de ocho videos.
El primer video muestra un planeta de luz brillante que se mueve lentamente y va mostrando su lado oscuro, luego aparecen otros planetas de distintos tamaños. Sin duda que es una puerta para observar el misterio del universo.

Joe Evans started making music in the early 80’s with a guitar, keyboards and tapes.
Evans has worked in theater companies, writing and playing music and installations. Since 2009 he runs the Runningonair Music label that releases the work of avant-garde music artists.
‘Ecliptic Plane’ contains a CD with five tracks and a DVD. Inspired by the solar system and in particular in how time is marked by the cycle of movements that are in it.
Evans’ music combines piano, drums, music loop and mathematical experiments.
The pieces ‘Ecliptic Plane’ and ‘Resonant TNOs’ use the data from the planets and other objects to create rhythms and harmonies. In the first one, there is a sense of coldness along with soft bursts and digital percussion. On ‘Resonant TNOs’ are heard the piano notes creating a delicate and awesome atmosphere.
‘Approaching Sun’, ‘Recending Sun’ and ‘Oort Cloud’ are the result of mathematical experiments.
‘Approaching Sun’ begins with a brighter sound almost epic produced with software design and then shows a bleaker face with ‘Recending Sun’.
‘Oort Cloud’ is a journey into a dark space with a piano loop and some dirty sounds in the distance.
The videos accompanying the track ‘Ecliptic Plane’ (one in stereo and one in surround sound) show the planets and their most important satellites in a series of eight videos.
The videos show the bright light of a planet moving slowly showing then its dark side and other planets in different sizes. This is an invitation to stare at the mystery of the universe.
