Kaya Kamijo aka Kayaka es una compositora experimental quien reside en Londres y en el norte de España.
Ha realizado giras por Europa, México, Reino Unido y Japón y ha editado varios álbumes en su net-label Pighole Records y en Spirals of Involution (Rusia), A.M.P (México), Neigh% (Reino Unido).
Kaya también tiene un nuevo proyecto, Kaliyaqen, que es una presentación en vivo junto al desarrollo de la pintura de Liqen, también otros proyectos actuales son Shining Tor junto a Bad Producer, Gaot con Richard Harrison, Hotduck, como dúo acompañada de Mari King y 55BLUES junto a Horacio Pollard, todos ellos en distintos estilos, desde live electronics, el noise y el doom.
Kaya utiliza dispositivos electrónicos, laptop y oboe, además, fabrica sus propios objetos sonoros. En ‘Silvestre’ Kaya procesa instrumentos, trabaja con grabaciones de campo, registra trozos de canciones como en ‘San Jarocho mix’, al parecer proviene de México y que está procesada a otra velocidad. En el terreno de lo abstracto se encuentran ‘Cows on a river’, ‘2B or not 2B’ y ‘Pandora en laud3’. En la vena de los registros de campo se destacan ‘Dania y Sara’ y ‘Salamandra del portal’. ‘Dedicated to sumi2’ es interesante como el oboe se mantiene como un drone, en tanto que las notas de un teclado van marcando una oscura melodía mientras que en el fondo se escuchan pájaros salvajes. ‘Dawn Chorus’, que cierra el álbum, muestra una bella y hipnotizante melodía de fondo por la que se cruzan oscilantes sonidos.
El trabajo de Kaya en ‘Silvestre’ muestra distintas texturas y colores, donde lo abstracto y lo simple fluyen perfectamente.

Kaya Kamijo aka Kayaka is an experimental music composer, live performer, based in London and North Spain.
She has toured through Europe, Mexico, UK and Japan and has released several albums on her own net-label, Pighole Records, and the Spirals of Involution (Russia), A.M.P (Mexico), Neigh% (UK).
She has also a new project Kaliyaqen, which is a live performance and painting by Liqen. Other projects that she currently has are Shining Tor with Bad Producer, Gaot with Richard Harrison, Hotduck, Duo with Mari King and 55BLUES with Horacio Pollard, which belong to different genres from live electronics, noise and doom.
Kaya use electronic devices, laptop and oboe, besides she builds her own sound objects.
On ‘Silvestre’ Kaya processed instruments, works with field recordings, recordings of fragments of songs like on ‘San Jarocho mix’ that apparently comes from Mexico and is processed using a different pitch. In the abstract vein are ‘Cows on a river’, ‘2 B or not 2B’ and ‘Pandora laud3’. In the field recordings field stands ‘Dania and Sara’ and ‘Salamander Portal’. ‘Dedicated to sumi2’ is interesting as the oboe remains a drone, while the notes of a keyboard marks a dark melody while the wild birds are in the background. ‘Dawn Chorus’, that close the album, shows a beautiful and mesmerizing melody which is crossed by oscillating sounds.
Kaya’s work on ‘Silvestre’ shows different textures and colors where abstract sounds perfectly flowing.
