Gavin Toomey es un compositor, productor musical y director de cine inglés quien comienza en 1992 a tocar en bandas experimentales en los míticos clubes londinenses Garage y Marquee. Luego en 2002 empieza a componer música electrónica con el seudónimo de Vessel, editando tres álbumes y dos EP’s en el sello de Ben Edwards (Benge) Expanding Records y un álbum en Pictureland Records en el que editó su último disco ‘Pictureland’.
Con una trayectoria de 15 años en la industria del cine, ha estado enfocado en la realización de filmes (ver [http://gavintoomey.com/films](http://gavintoomey.com/films)) y en componer música para documentales, cortometrajes y comerciales.
Actualmente en lo musical está trabajando en lo que podría ser su próximo disco tentativamente bajo el nombre de ‘Flux’ del que he podido escuchar 6 temas. La música incorpora algo de techno (‘Event’), la electrónica cósmica de los ’70 con ‘Cookie’ y ‘Erase’, que tienen un carácter romántico e ‘Index’ con un beat marcado. ‘Now Chords’ es algo breve y en él se aprecian delicados acordes.
‘Taste’, que cierra esta muestra (aún no masterizada), es realmente inspirador con un ritmo bailable hipnótico y una melodía de fondo muy bella. Con este track Toomey nos deja con gusto para conocer más de su música.

Gavin Toomey | ‘Flux’ | Unreleased | 2007 – 2013
Gavin Toomey is London based composer, music producer and film director who started in 1992 playing in experimental bands at the legendary London clubs in the likes of Garage and Marquee.
Then in 2002 he began to compose electronic music under the moniker of Vessel releasing 3 LP vinyl/CD albums and 2 EP’s on Ben Edwards’s (Benge) Expanding Records and Pictureland Records where he released his last album ‘Pictureland’ (2006).
With a background of 15 years in the industry he has been basically focused on directing films (check [http://gavintoomey.com/films](http://gavintoomey.com/films)) and composing music for documentaries, short films and TV commercials.
Nowadays in the musical field he is working on what could be his next album tentatively under the name of ‘Flux’ of which I could hear six tracks. The music incorporates some techno (‘Event’), 70s cosmic electronics like ‘Cookie’ and ‘Erase’ that have a romantic character and ‘Index’ marked with a beat. ‘Now Chords’ is something short and you can appreciate the delicate chords.
‘Taste’, which closes this (unmastered) sample, is really inspiring with a hypnotic dance beat and a beautiful background melody. With this track Toomey leaves us with a taste for knowing more of his music.
